Moto X Freestyle- Defending Moto X Freestyle champ Nate Adams is back in action after spending the past eight months rebuilding his left shoulder, but that's a long time in the span of FMX progression. In his absence, an international crew of new riders including current Red Bull X-Fighters tour leaders Todd Potter, Levi Sherwood and Javier Villegas has been preparing to take the hill. To reach the top of the podium, they'll also have to claw their way past Adam Jones and Dany Torres, last year's silver and bronze medalists.

Skate Big Air- Three-time Skate Big Air gold medalist Bob Burnquist has had a huge advantage over his competition: He has a private MegaRamp in his backyard. But the installation of a new MegaRamp training facility at Camp Woodward last year has changed everything, and this year veteran skateboarders will find themselves fighting off the invasion of the groms, some of them as young as 11 years old. Jagger Eaton, 11, will be the youngest competitor in X Games history, but all eyes will be on Tom Schaar, age 12: In April he became the first skateboarder to land a 1080. Burnquist was taken to the hospital after a hard fall during MegaRamp practice on Tuesday, but is still planning on skating in the Finals on Friday.

BMX Vert- Vert legend Jamie Bestwick is on arguably the most dominant run in X Games history, winning the past five gold medals, including his most recent at age 40. But to complete just the second six-peat in any XG discipline, the affable Briton will have to hold off 2011 silver medalist Steve McCann of Australia, who has rapidly closed the gap in the past year. Bestwick still holds a sizable advantage in the height he reaches out of the pipe, but McCann's triple tailwhip and no-handed 900 last year showed he's technically on par with Bestwick, if not superior, as some insiders believe. Will Bestwick unveil his most technical tricks to confirm his untouchable reputation, or will McCann break one of the great streaks in BMX history? Their showdown -- which could also feature Vince Byron and Chad Kagy -- promises to be one of the highlights on a whirlwind day in L.A.
